Very bad experience

Very bad experience. We purchased tiles for just below $300. Returning them would require paying approximately $320 for shipping costs (plus a 15% restocking fee on top of that). So, the whole return policy is just an illusion. Beware if you need to return anything!

Just received our tiles and had 30 demolished tiles out of 88. Frankly that's a disgrace. Especially with our timeline to finish the renovation in our bathroom before we close the sale. Just downright awful. I wouldn't believe any of these "5 star reviews* not worth it if you're on a timeline.

poor customer service and communication

I have made two orders with TileBar, and neither have been very satisfactory. The first order I made in September 2020 and received an e-mail the next day informing me my order was backordered and estimated ship dates. That was fine, but I was surprised when one day I never received any further communication from TileBar letting me know my items were on the way. One morning I received a phone call from the delivery service asking if I could accept delivery later that day. Luckily I was available, but prior communication would have been courteous so I could have planned.
I placed a second order to complete phase 2 of our bathroom remodel on Feb 2, 2021. Again, the next day I received an email stating the product was on backorder and the new estimated ship date was 3/22. The date came and went and I never heard anything, so I checked back in. I was informed the new estimated ship date was 4/22. I started to check back in a few days before, but heard back on 4/22 and my product still wasn't available. I understand that they can't necessarily control when product will be available to them, but they are horrible at proactively communicating timelines with their customers (at least for online orders). They already charged me for the tile, so I feel like it shouldn't be my responsibility to constantly be reaching out once their estimated dates come and go. I decided to cancel my second order because I do not want to keep wasting my time with them.

Save yourself the frustration...

I will try to keep this short, but not sweet. I ordered some tiles for my parents' bathroom and when I saw that they were back-ordered, I wrote customer service stating that it is not going to work for me due to the back-ordered date. I needed something sooner. I ordered tiles from somewhere else and the bathroom was completely gutted and completed by the time the Tilebar tiles came, you know, the ones I canceled. My 77-year-old dad had to move them to the garage and his back was hurting for days! When I called to tell them that I received the tiles I canceled they kept me on hold FOREVER and wI was asked all types of questions. I redirected them to my email and they told me that because I didn't actually use the work "CANCEL", that they proceeded with my order! What a headache to then try to negotiate the restocking and shipping fee! There were MULTIPLE calls made thereafter - a waste of my time! They wanted me to pay for the return shipping!! Even though it was THEIR fault, I was still charged the initial shipping and a 10% restocking fee. I should have called my parents' credit card company to get the full refund but I had already invested a ridiculous amount of time with that selfish and greedy company. My parents are gutting the rest of their house and I need tiles galore! I found another company that is AMAZING! PLEASE, do yourself a favor and avoid the stress and headaches and order from somewhere else! Build.com is a great site or shop local. I guess my review wasn't that short afterall.

My problem was not a huge deal

My problem was not a huge deal, but served as a warning to not deal with this company any further. I ordered samples to try to see if they would be right for a large portion of my house. I ordered two of the same tile, so that I could see how they would look next to each other. The box did seem suspiciously light weight when it arrived. I was expecting two 15” by 15” tiles. That’s not what came. They cut the samples down to maybe 1/5th of a tile. On the floor, it looks like you threw down one of those small old fashioned paperback books in the middle of a large open space. There is no way to picture what a room full of these tiles would look like. Thankfully, for some reason the ridiculousness struck me funny. I left the samples down and waited for my family to stumble upon the sight. The laughter was almost worth the cost of these ‘samples’. I wrote to the company, but there was no response.

Poor Service and Disappointing Communication

I ordered some tile from the company and paid $59 for express shipping. Received a confirmation of order email with a message that with COVID there could be delays up to 7 days, so since I was on a project deadline, I called to see if that applied to this order. I was told no, that it should be there in two days since it was expedited shipping, it would go out right away.
It didn't come as scheduled, so the day after it was to have arrived, I called and was told it was on backorder. No emails. No one bothered to let me know. No delivery on their promise. Crew was all lined up to be here based on their assurance that it would indeed arrive by yesterday and now we are on delay until it gets back in stock.
Update:
Received the promised tile in 7 days, not the two days they told me on the phone.
Also received 5 huge boxes of someone else's tile, and am still waiting on direction how to return it.
And one-third of the tiles I ordered myself were chipped, so unusable.
Called and was told I'll have to process a claim and wait for them to approve and resend the tile.
Such disappointing service and lethargic response to rectifying it when they had a chance.

Tile Bar mixed in several boxes of different tile that was ordered. They were notified about it and eight days later the replacement tile has yet to ship.
Terrible quality control and customer service

Lie about what is in stock

Like many other reviews here, I had the same experience. I placed an order that was over $1,500. When I placed the order, I paid for express shipping. The product was listed as in stock, everything seemed normal. 2 days later I got an email saying the tile was not in stock and they expected to have more in 1 week. 12 days later, I've called, emailed, done a live chat.. literally EVERYTHING to get a person on the other end. After hours of my time they told me the tile wouldn't be back in stock until the end of January.. they straight up lied to me and let me place the order anyway. I've began asking for a refund, but at this rate I expect that to also drag out for many months. Super, super disappointing. There are so many tile places out there, big and small -- do not support this one. Any business that can lie to customers about what they actually have in stock just doesn't have your best interest in mind. I'm happy this didn't workout - I will go elsewhere.

Waiting two months.......

Waiting two months.......
I placed a $1000.00 order with TileBar on August 17th, 2020. Was excited as heck to get this order. Waiting, waiting no email of shipment until one day I get a call from a trucking company, had to schedule for delivery. Delivery happened on September 11th. Eight boxes of tile on a pallet with orange wrapping on it. Nothing to protect the tile at all. All the top tile was broken. I took pictures and refused the shipment. Immediately called TileBar, the young man didn't know what to say, I said I would send the pictures etc, which I did. He said there was plenty of this in stock and they could ship out replacement right away. Over the course of a week and corresponding with the "Help Desk", they were not sending the replacement until they got in touch with the trucking company. I could understand that. Than I got an email saying that my replacement was accepted. Which I thought it shipped. Two weeks went by, no word. So I reached out again and asked when it would deliver. Their response, unfortunately we are out of stock. Didn't bother to tell me that. Guy on the phone on Sept. 11th said there was plenty. They have told me they estimate restock date of November 13th. I have periodically been on there website and some days it reads that they are out of stock, but you can still order, then other days, like today, October 19th, doesn't say they're out of stock. So I emailed and received a response that they are still out of stock. I emailed back and have asked to cancel my order and credit my CC as soon as possible. That was August I was charged. Will see what happens. Will I ever buy from TileBar again? Probably not.

We live in Florida and we’re a little nervous dealing with an out of state supplier. We ordered 5 samples for $5 and picked one we thought would look great on our patio countertop. The price was 1/3 of comparable tiles we found in our area and had more artistic features. The tiles were delivered to our door within a week. Staff was very helpful and professional. Only downside was a long wait time on calls, but considering everything else, not a big issue. We’ll order from them again.
